Asking A Forensic Psychologist To Profile A Murderer

I'm writing a suspense novel. I have my detective and ME going to see a forensic professor to get a profile on the murderer they are looking for. My questions are: Would a forensic psychology professor be able to write up some kind of profile? And if so, what would it say? Any takers?
