PsyD or PhD? Which is best For Forensic Psychology?

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am just finishing my first year in a Forensic Psychology Master's program, with hopes of entering a doctoral program. My question would be whether it is most beneficial to obtain a PsyD or a PhD in psychology to become a forensic psychologist?

Another question would be if anyone is aware of programs in the US where they may help pay some of the tuition in return for working. The program I am at currently is very expensive and offers no such help.

Appreciate any answers!
