I agree that he shouldn't have been executed

I don't really believe in the death penalty so that is part of the reason I don't think he should have been executed. The other is that there was very clearly something very wrong in his psyche (whether he admittted it or not) that created the "entity" in him that was driven to kill. Other multi murderers have described the same presence of a separate entity that drives them to kill. I agree that an opportunity to study and hopefully treat such conditions in the future was lost.
