What Does Being A Forensic Psychologist Entail?

I have been doing research for this job, but everything I get is not very detailed. I want to know exactly what I would have to do for this job.

Is it mostly based on law suits and court rooms? Also, what is the difference between criminal profiling and a forensic psychologist? Is getting a job extremely difficult due to the limited number of severe cases?

I wanted to work in the FBI but everyone I talk too has told me that this is impossible and I would never find a job because it is so rare. Can someone please tell me anything about this.
