If you listen to his interview, you will note how he comments that he was looking through trash etc. Ted began as a voyeur, a peeping Tom, or better yet, a peeping Ted. I am sure pornography didn't help matters, but he found pornography because he was lurking through his neighbourhood and sifting through peoples trash. Ted blamed pornography, easier to do than admit responsibility for his own personally created fantasies!
